Jonah 1:17-2:10

After Jonah is thrown overboard he drowns not only in the sea but also in his sin. God rescues Jonah by appointing a great fish to swallow Jonah; a picture of salvation through judgment and a foreshadowing of Jesus Christ. Jonah prays from the belly of the great fish and recounts how he was on the brink of hell but "Salvation is of the Lord".
