Jonah 1:4-16

God hurls a storm upon the sea to stop Jonah from fleeing to Tarshish. A group of pagan sailors is caught up in the conflict between Jonah and His God. In a surprising twist, Jonah ends up preaching the truth of God to pagans who themselves come to fear and worship the Lord. Jonah persists in his rebellion and is thrown into the sea. In this text, the sovereignty of God is displayed as He works through the storm to graciously bring unbelievers to the place of worship.
